Why LinkedIn Is the Most Powerful Place to Build Collaborations & Referrals (Without Being Salesy)

Want more business opportunities?

Show up on LinkedIn with intention…

And watch the right people start finding you.

If you ask most heart-centered entrepreneurs where their best clients come from, they’ll usually say: “Referrals.” “Introductions.”

In other words, people who already know, like, and trust you.

One of the reasons LinkedIn works so beautifully for heart-led entrepreneurs is that it rewards sincerity far more than tactics.

Authentic visibility doesn’t mean posting daily. (It doesn’t mean dancing on video either.)

It simply means letting people see you: your ideas, your values, and your voice.

Even, and especially, your challenges, failures, and blemishes.

When you speak about the things that matter to you: • why you do the work you do, • what you believe about delivering service, • and how you help people get results…

…the right people notice.

Not because you “sold” them, but because they resonated with you.

They are aligned.

What I’ve realized:

The more you communicate who you are, the more likely someone is to think, “I know someone who needs to meet you.”

That’s how partnerships begin. That’s how referrals flow.

Some of my most important professional relationships didn’t come from conferences, networking events, or masterminds.

They came from LinkedIn.

People I’d never have met in my daily life became collaborators, colleagues, friends, simply because one of us commented, reached out, or exchanged a few ideas in a post thread.

That’s how Kimberly Maxfield Figueroa and I deepened our connection and discovered that we are passionate about helping others show up with confidence and clarity on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is the modern-day “hallway conversation” — the space where the right introductions happen organically.

If You Want More Collaboration, You Need More Intention.

If the idea of finding partners, referral allies, or supportive colleagues sounds wonderful but also a little overwhelming or confusing …

You don’t have to figure this out alone.

That’s why Kim and I created our new community, LinkedIn with Intention.

It’s a warm, welcoming space for women entrepreneurs who want: • clear guidance • authentic visibility • support without judgment • feedback that feels human • and a place to practice showing up on LinkedIn (without the pressure)

In launching this group, we also created a tutorial, Intentional LinkedIn, your first step toward showing up with clarity and confidence.

If you want LinkedIn to feel easier, more natural, and more aligned with how you do business, we’d love to have you join us.

A Suggested Relationship-Building Framework

The “1% Adjustment.”

Most entrepreneurs think they need a major overhaul to build relationships on LinkedIn.

But real connection doesn’t come from big, sweeping moves. It comes from micro-adjustments, tiny shifts that make people feel seen, valued, and safe to engage with you.

I call this the 1% Adjustment.

Here’s an example of what you could do.

1% Adjustment: Instead of “Great post!” comment with depth.

Try: “This message really spoke to me because…”

A single reflective sentence signals your level of understanding and appreciation for the post and opens the door to conversation.

Why This Works.

Because collaboration isn’t built on pitches. It’s built on small signals that say:

“I see you. I get you. I value this exchange.”

That’s the essence of partnership-based visibility.

Most of my best opportunities didn’t come from marketing… They came from conversations.

The more I show up on LinkedIn with curiosity and generosity, the more I meet aligned colleagues, collaboration partners, and referral allies.

Not because I’m “selling.” But because I’m being seen.

✨ Sharing ideas ✨ Commenting with intention ✨ Celebrating others’ work ✨ Showing up consistently, in my way, in my voice

If you’re looking for more visibility without being salesy, try this simple shift:

Show up to connect, not convince. Watch how partnerships grow from there.

C2C Swipe: The 60-Second Shift

The Micro-Move That Attracts the Right Partners on LinkedIn

If you want more collaboration opportunities, here’s a simple shift that instantly changes how people see you:

Shift from “posting expertise” to “sharing perspective.”

Expertise informs. Perspective connects.

This week, try a short LinkedIn post. Complete this line: • Unlike others in my field, I believe … • After being a student for years, the most important thing I learned is … • What I gained from a recent client is …

You’ll be surprised how many people comment with: “I feel the same way.” “I’ve been thinking about this too.” “Let’s talk more about this.”

And that’s the beginning of an authentic relationship.

Small shift, big result.
